Pleiades
Catalog: M45
The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters or M45, is one of the most famous and easily recognized star clusters in the night sky. Located in the constellation Taurus, this young open cluster is made up of hot, blue stars that were born together and still travel through space as a family. What makes the Pleiades especially beautiful in astrophotography is the faint blue reflection nebula that surrounds many of its brightest stars, created as their light scatters off interstellar dust. The result is a scene that feels both sharp and delicate—brilliant stars wrapped in soft, luminous haze. It is one of the sky’s most timeless targets, and a reminder that even some of the most familiar objects overhead still hold incredible depth and beauty when viewed through long-exposure imaging.
